We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced academic to join our team as a Reader/Professor in Geotechnical Engineering at Imperial College London. The successful candidate will have a strong research background and a proven track record of publishing high-impact research papers in the field of geotechnical engineering.
The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field and an established national reputation and developing international reputation in the field of geotechnical engineering. They will also have a strong teaching background and experience in developing and delivering undergraduate and postgraduate courses in soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct original and impactful research in geotechnical engineering, with a focus on addressing the challenges of delivering low carbon energy, mitigating the risks posed by climate change, and contributing to the development of sustainable resilient infrastructure.
- Develop and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering, with a focus on providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter.
- Supervise PhD students and provide guidance and support to early career researchers.
- Contribute to the development of research proposals and secure funding for research projects.
- Engage with industry partners and stakeholders to develop collaborative research projects and promote the work of the department.
