Job Title: Functional Specialist

Donard Recruitment is seeking a skilled Functional Specialist to join our team. As a Functional Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing unbiased, comprehensive assessments for the Government's disability allowance (PIP) while ensuring a personalized, inclusive, safe, and empathetic service for the service user.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver face-to-face and virtual assessments, telephone assessments, initial review calls, and paper-based reports (PBR)
  • Manage caseloads from end to end, including delivering assessments and managing cases to conclusion
  • Assess the full range of health conditions and disabilities affecting the claimant, including physical, sensory, mental, intellectual, and cognitive impairments
  • Have time built into your working rota for breaks, CPD, audit amendments, requesting and reviewing further evidence, and team meetings
Requirements:
  • Qualified Nurse, Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, or Paramedic
  • 1+ years post-qualification experience
  • Valid registration on NMC or HCPC without restrictions
  • Excellent communication skills and strong IT literacy
Benefits:
  • Basic salary of £38,500 - £41,500
  • 5% retention bonus, rising to 10% quality and retention bonus
  • OTE: £45,650
  • Hybrid full-time and part-time working hours available
  • Training options: 12 weeks (full-time), 14 weeks (4 days per week), and 17 weeks (3 days per week)
