About the Role
The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Diabetes Specialist to join their team. As a key member of the Leicester Diabetes Centre, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality education and training to healthcare professionals, with a focus on diabetes care and management.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver training programs for healthcare professionals, focusing on diabetes care and management.
- Contribute to the development of new research projects and initiatives, working closely with leading clinical and research experts.
- Provide clinical knowledge and expertise as a resource for development, reviewing and refining existing training programs.
About the Centre
The Leicester Diabetes Centre has three overarching aims: Education, Innovation, and Research. With a strong focus on commercial and non-commercial research projects, the centre undertakes a wide range of studies, including drug trials, lifestyle studies, and large randomised controlled trials for the prevention and screening of diabetes.
Person Specification
Essential
- A degree or equivalent qualification.
- Recognised professional registration or substantial experience in a relevant area.
- At least 3 years' experience working within the field of chronic disease, including diabetes.
- Experience of working within the field of research and audit.
- Experience of teaching staff, students, and patients.
