Occupational Therapy Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapy Specialist to join our team at West London NHS Trust. As an Occupational Therapy Specialist, you will play a crucial role in helping patients regain their independence and improve their overall quality of life.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients in general rehabilitation, determine clinical diagnoses, and develop individualized treatment plans. Provide evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to patients with complex acute and/or chronic conditions. Manage your own caseload, including assessment, treatment, and support of clients. Apply specialist skills in assessment and treatment within the General Medical Rehabilitation care remit. Support students on placement and provide mentorship. Contribute to the planning, development, delivery, and evaluation of the therapy service provided to General Medical Rehabilitation patients. Ability to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
Requirements
A BSc (Hons) or equivalent Occupational Therapist qualification, HCPC Registered, Member of BAOT, and Member of Specialist Section. Minimum of 2 years experience working as an OT post-graduate. Experience of core OT skills and OT process, MDT team working, range of caseload management and prioritisation systems, independently managing a caseload, and supervising junior staff or students. Knowledge of national policies and procedures relevant to the clinical setting, clinical governance, clinical audits, and risk management. Understanding of Rapid Response and Home First principles. Skills and abilities such as problem-solving approach, organisational ability, time management, teaching ability, supervision, delegation, ability to work under pressure & adapt to change, IT literacy, and advanced communication and negotiation skills. Commitment to learning and development, ability to reflect and learn from situations, membership of a relevant special interest group, and accredited courses in a relevant field. The role requires a car owner or access to a car for work and a full UK driving licence.
