About The Role

As a Payroll Advisor at GSF Car Parts, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for delivering a comprehensive payroll processing service. Your primary focus will be on meeting weekly and monthly payroll deadlines while providing exceptional support to internal employees. You will work closely with the Payroll Manager to drive process improvements, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and ensure compliance with statutory and legislative requirements.

Main Duties Include:

  • Processing UK and IOM monthly payroll end-to-end
  • Processing statutory payments and deductions
  • Pension administration and reconciliations
  • Supporting with time and attendance
  • Providing a confidential service to employees at all levels
  • Submission of year-end, P and PD documents
  • Supporting with company car and other salary sacrifice schemes
  • In the absence of the Payroll Manager, ensuring pre-payroll processing tasks are completed, payrolls are run, and post-processing tasks are completed in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner, including submission and retrieval of files to/from HMRC
  • In the absence of the Payroll Manager, balancing the net payment for the payroll and the monthly Payroll reconciliation
  • Supporting the Payroll Manager in ensuring the skills and experience of the payroll team are mapped and gaps in knowledge are closed where there may be an impact on service delivery
  • Researching new initiatives where efficiency and customer experience can be improved across systems, processes, and ways of working
  • Communicating throughout the Payroll team, broader HR, and the business, all changes to statutory and legislative requirements
  • Building excellent working relationships with Business Leaders and key stakeholders
  • Keeping personal knowledge up to date through external networking and attending conferences, bringing back leading-edge and innovative Payroll thinking, and sharing this with the team and HR Leadership

Working Hours:

Hours per week, Monday – Friday, with hybrid available

About You

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record with 2+ years' experience working in end-to-end payroll, ideally within a fast-paced, multi-site organisation. Some in-house payroll experience would be beneficial, but not essential. A CIPP qualification is desirable, and whilst a recognised Payroll qualification would be preferred, we would consider applications where equivalent knowledge and expertise have been obtained via experience. Knowledge and experience of recent/current legislation is paramount. A capable and proactive professional who is committed to delivering a first-class internal/external service, with excellent understanding and experience of working with Payroll systems, where previous knowledge of iTrent is preferable. A clear respect for confidentiality, able to work well under pressure with minimal supervision, and excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with key stakeholders.
