About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Hand Therapist to join our team at Surrey Downs Health. As a Senior Hand Therapist, you will be responsible for providing specialist hand assessments and treatment for clients who have had trauma/surgery to their upper limb and/or have chronic conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialist hand assessments and treatment for clients with diverse and complex presentations.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve function, independence, and quality of life.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
- Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Provide education and training to patients, families, and healthcare professionals on hand therapy and rehabilitation techniques.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy.
- Registration with Health Professions Council HCPC.
- Experience working in a hand therapy department, preferably in an acute hospital environment or a physical community service.
- Knowledge of a broad range of conditions and client groups, including acute elective, acute trauma patients, plastics, and rheumatology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
