Job Title: Senior Hand Therapist- Surrey Downs Health

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Hand Therapist to join our team at Surrey Downs Health. As a Senior Hand Therapist, you will be responsible for providing specialist hand assessments and treatment for clients who have had trauma/surgery to their upper limb and/or have chronic conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist hand assessments and treatment for clients with diverse and complex presentations.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve function, independence, and quality of life.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
  • Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Provide education and training to patients, families, and healthcare professionals on hand therapy and rehabilitation techniques.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy.
  • Registration with Health Professions Council HCPC.
  • Experience working in a hand therapy department, preferably in an acute hospital environment or a physical community service.
  • Knowledge of a broad range of conditions and client groups, including acute elective, acute trauma patients, plastics, and rheumatology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
