Job Title: National Account / Commercial Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced National Account / Commercial Manager to join our team at Lewis Garner Consulting. As a key member of our sales and business development team, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to drive sales growth and revenue expansion across our national accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve budgeted sales targets and drive revenue growth.
  2. Maintain and develop existing customer relationships, while identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver business objectives and drive sales performance.
  4. Negotiate and manage customer plans to deliver mutually beneficial sales growth and revenue expansion.
  5. Establish and maintain effective pricing structures to ensure cost increases are implemented as required.
  6. Manage and drive ROI of trade spend at all levels, ensuring 100% conditional.
  7. Leverage category management principles to deliver win-win solutions, including distribution, new listings, and range review gains.
  8. Develop and maintain a mutually profitable business plan, framework for growth on all key metrics.
  9. Work closely with the development team on business planning and lead cross-functional teams.
  10. Ensure 'good housekeeping' via efficient ledger query management (price, invoice, claims).
  11. Adhere to internal processes and timescales for forecasting and business planning.
  12. Ensure all aspects of due diligence (food safety, quality, and legislation) are adhered to.

Requirements:

  1. Experience in the food service industry is essential to succeed in this role.
  2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  3. Strong presentation skills with the confidence and passion for selling.
  4. Excellent negotiator and results-driven.
  5. Experience of effective external stakeholder management.
  6. Demonstrable experience in a fast-paced sales environment.
  7. Good market awareness coupled with the ability to build, lead, negotiate, and conclude commercially sound customer plans and core business.

Personal Attributes:

  1. Educated to degree level.
  2. Strong commercial acumen, confidence to make commercially sound decisions.
  3. Ability to build, lead, negotiate, and conclude commercially sound customer JBP's.
  4. Experience in dealing with multiple customers at various levels.
  5. Proven ability in analysing and interpreting all available data.
  6. Demonstrates good customer awareness.
  7. Excellent relationship-building skills.
  8. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
