Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Scunthorpe

Salary: £37,500 - £42,000 per annum depending on experience

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Working Hours: Basic working hours 6am hours per week

We are seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to join our team at Rainham Steel, a leading UK steel stockholder. As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for the diagnosis and repair of hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.

The Role:

  • Reporting to the operations manager
  • Diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical systems
  • Performing routine maintenance tasks to ensure equipment is running efficiently
  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment conditions
  • Working with a variety of plant and equipment, including forklifts, side loaders, overhead cranes, saws, drills, shot blasters, and rebar processing machines
  • Flexible to do paid overtime when necessary

The Candidate:

  • Proven experience in maintenance within a production environment
  • Competent in mechanical repairs and maintenance, including bearings, belts, chains, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding
  • Ability to communicate with a wide range of people
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, pressurized environment
  • Good command of the English language
  • Must be a good timekeeper
