Job Title: Senior Pharmacist - Post-Acute Medicine

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Pharmacist to join our Post-Acute Medicine team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and dynamic pharmacist to lead and deliver high-quality clinical pharmacy services to post-acute medical and stroke wards. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work across a broad range of specialties, including respiratory, cystic fibrosis, stroke, gastroenterology, diabetes, and elderly care.

The post holder will be responsible for participating in the multidisciplinary team, providing interface and discharge liaison, and supporting wards and units within the Care Group. They will also lead on the provision of clinical pharmacy services, develop and implement local guidelines, and assist in financial reporting and drug budget management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, cost-effective, patient-focused pharmaceutical care.
  • Provide interface and discharge liaison, and support wards and units within the Care Group.
  • Lead on the provision of clinical pharmacy services to post-acute medical and stroke wards.
  • Develop, implement, and audit local guidelines.
  • Assist in financial reporting and drug budget management.
  • Ensure seamless pharmaceutical care on discharge, liaising with other pharmacists and healthcare professionals.
Person Specification

We are looking for a pharmacist with:

  • MPharm (Masters Degree)
  • Registered Pharmacist (1 year competency assessed and examined professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council)
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent qualification/experience
  • Working towards a Postgraduate Diploma in Pharmacy Practice or Clinical Pharmacy
  • Registered Independent Prescriber or willingness to complete
  • Member of the RPS faculty
