Job Title: Senior Pharmacist

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Pharmacist to join our team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a Senior Pharmacist, you will play a key role in leading and managing the pharmacy service, ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines, and providing clinical expertise to patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the pharmacy service, ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines.
  • Provide clinical expertise to patients and staff, including prescribing, medication management, and patient education.
  • Develop and implement policies, guidelines, and procedures to improve the pharmacy service.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care and effective communication.
  • Manage and supervise junior staff, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Participate in research and audit projects to improve the quality of service and patient outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development of clinical pharmacy services, including the implementation of new technologies and innovations.
Requirements:
  • Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in a clinical pharmacy setting, with a strong understanding of medicines management and clinical governance.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, with a strong attention to detail.
