Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Residential Support Worker to join our team at Wokingham Borough Council. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of a professional, child-centered service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality support and guidance to children and young people in our care, promoting their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with children and young people, understanding their individual needs and circumstances.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the delivery of a safe and nurturing environment, adhering to relevant regulations and policies.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of individual care plans, ensuring the best possible outcomes for children and young people.
  • Contribute to the assessment and monitoring of children's needs, identifying opportunities for growth and development.
  • Support the Homes Manager in ensuring the home meets the required standards for inspections and regulation.

Candidate Requirements

  • Professional qualification in QCF Level 3 in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children and young people with complex emotional needs.
  • Ability to work flexible shift patterns, including weekends, overnights, and bank holidays.
