Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Occupational Therapy Team Lead in the medicine department at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.

As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will lead a team of occupational therapists and technicians in delivering value-based, occupationally focused interventions across the hospital.

The occupational therapy service is embedded in the Cardiff and Vale Occupational Therapy Strategy and Operational Plan, which focuses on rehabilitation and discharge planning.

You will work closely with the team to develop and implement service improvements, ensuring a timely and efficient service that meets the needs of patients.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in occupational therapy, with experience in leading teams and managing complex caseloads.

They will also have a good understanding of current healthcare policies and be able to communicate complex information to a wide audience.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead the occupational therapy team in delivering high-quality services
  • Develop and implement service improvements
  • Manage complex caseloads and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
