Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Occupational Therapy Team Lead in Medicine at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, based in Lakeside. As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will lead a team of occupational therapists and technicians in delivering value-based, occupationally focused interventions across Lakeside and IACU, supporting rehabilitation and discharge planning.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead service development in occupational therapy, ensuring alignment with the Cardiff and Vale Occupational Therapy Strategy and Operational Plan.
  • Deliver occupational therapy interventions in an inpatient setting, utilizing advanced clinical reasoning and knowledge of current healthcare policies.
  • Manage a complex caseload, applying expertise in complex discharge and rehabilitation.
  • Implement D2RA, Home First, and the Cardiff and Vale Occupational Therapy Strategy and Operational Plan, ensuring seamless integration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, patients, and families.

Requirements
  • Hold a qualification in Occupational Therapy at degree level or equivalent.
  • Holds professional registration as awarded by HCPC.
  • Evidence of recent formal training/learning at higher level/level 7.
  • Holds Practice Educator Training Qualification.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Evidence of postgraduate qualifications in a wide selection of clinical conditions.
  • Evidence of significant postgraduate experience in medicine speciality.
  • Evidence of team leadership within uni and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Evidence of people management skills.
