An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Occupational Therapy Team Lead in Medicine at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, based in Lakeside. As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will lead a team of occupational therapists and technicians in delivering value-based, occupationally-focused interventions across Lakeside and IACU, supporting rehabilitation and discharge planning.
Main Responsibilities- Lead service development in occupational therapy, ensuring alignment with the Cardiff and Vale Occupational Therapy Strategy and Operational Plan.
- Deliver occupational therapy interventions in an inpatient setting, utilizing advanced clinical reasoning and knowledge of current healthcare policies.
- Manage complex caseloads, including those requiring discharge planning and rehabilitation.
- Implement D2RA, Home First, and the Cardiff and Vale Occupational Therapy Strategy and Operational Plan.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.

Requirements- Hold a qualification in Occupational Therapy at degree level or equivalent.
- Holds professional registration as awarded by HCPC.
- Evidence of recent formal training/learning at higher level/level 7.
- Holds Practice Educator Training Qualification.
- Evidence of postgraduate qualifications in a wide selection of clinical conditions.
- Evidence of significant postgraduate experience in medicine speciality.
- Evidence of team leadership within uni and multidisciplinary teams.
- Evidence of people management skills.
