Job Summary

United Gas & Power is seeking an experienced Programme Manager to lead the delivery of our Market Wide Half Hourly Settlement programme. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the programme, working closely with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, and regulatory bodies.

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver the UGPs MHHS programme, ensuring compliance with all external programme obligations and readiness for the new MHHS environment.
  • Lead the programme, overseeing all workstreams and working closely with internal stakeholders, external vendors, agents, and regulatory bodies.
  • Select and implement the DCC Adapter solution, enabling UGP to interact with the DCC network directly from their CRM.
  • Guide business teams to identify operational process changes for MHHS delivery and implement changes to ensure continued operation within the MHHS environment.
  • Work with UGP's external CRM partner to implement necessary system changes for MHHS operation.
  • Identify and implement additional system changes to meet MHHS obligations.
  • Plan and oversee the migration of UGP meters into the new MHHS operating environment.
  • Manage external industry programme obligations and communications, ensuring UGP's compliance in all aspects of the programme.
  • Plan, facilitate, and oversee relevant workshops and engagement sessions, internally and externally.
  • Oversee project deliverables and documentation.
  • Support Smart meter installation planning, as appropriate.
  • Maintain awareness of regulatory changes and ensure UGP's adherence to the Smart Energy Code (SEC).
  • Prepare for and facilitate Smart CIO audits, liaising with auditing teams and managing post-audit follow-up actions.
  • Contribute to Smart commercial strategies.

About the Role

  • Proven experience in managing complex projects in the energy or utilities sector.
  • Ability to deliver and manage projects - scope, plan, people, progress, deliverables, risks, issues.
  • Leadership skills to motivate cross-functional teams for timely and quality delivery.
  • Familiarity with managing 3rd party suppliers and agents.
  • In-depth understanding of the UK energy market.
  • Strong understanding of IT systems and operational processes.
  • Knowledge of the MHHS industry programme, smart meters, and settlement processes.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability.
  • Experience with IT security, audit, risk, and compliance activities, ideally with DCC CIO audit processes knowledge.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with internal and external parties.
  • Prince2 Practitioner certification (desirable).
