Job Description: Ambulance Support Officer - Cardiac and Respiratory Care

We are looking for an enthusiastic and caring individual to transport patients to and from our specialist cardiac and respiratory hospitals at Royal Brompton Hospital in London & Harefield Hospital in Middlesex.

About the Team: Our in-house ambulance service is dedicated to providing high-quality care to patients across the region. As a key member of our team, you will be employed directly by Guy's & St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, working closely with our healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Transporting patients to attend outpatient appointments, day case treatment, admissions, discharges, and transfers between NHS hospitals nationally.
  2. Caring for frail and vulnerable patients, some requiring assistance with wheelchairs, both manual and electric.
  3. Delivering clear, concise basic clinical information to the Health Care professional when handing over patients.
  4. Undertaking risk assessment of patient safety, staff safety, and public safety.

Requirements:
  • A Level 2 Diploma or GCSEs in Mathematics and English
  • A full clean UK driving licence
  • The willingness to complete a Certificate in Ambulance Patient Care

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, with flexible working days possible
