Overview

At University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, we are seeking a highly skilled Research Nurse - Infection Division to join our team in the Infection Division. As a key member of our research team, you will play a vital role in conducting clinical trials and research studies, working closely with patients, healthcare professionals, and researchers.

About the Job

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced Research Nurse to contribute to our cutting-edge research in infection prevention and control. You will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to design, implement, and evaluate research studies, ensuring the highest standards of quality and patient safety. Your expertise will be essential in developing and implementing research protocols, managing data, and contributing to the analysis and interpretation of results.

Key Responsibilities

Your main duties will include:
  • Conducting clinical trials and research studies, including recruiting participants, collecting data, and managing trial documentation.
  • Developing and implementing research protocols, working closely with our research team and collaborators.
  • Managing and analyzing data, contributing to the interpretation of results, and preparing reports and publications.
  • Collaborating with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure informed consent and participation in research.
  • Working effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines.


Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:
  • A degree in nursing or a related field (RGN, RMN, RPN, or equivalent) and current registration with the relevant professional body.
  • Proven experience as a nurse in a research setting or hospital environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and contribute to the development of research protocols.
  • Familiarity with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and clinical trial regulations.


Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is approximately £40,000-£50,000 per annum, depending on experience.
