Job Description

The VP of Compliance at Deriv will be based in our London office, overseeing compliance excellence across the company's worldwide activities.

This role is crucial for driving compliance strategies, fostering a deep understanding of regulatory requirements, and ensuring that all Deriv entities operate within the law.

  1. Regulatory Framework Specialist: Guide compliance excellence by providing comprehensive guidance on applicable legislation, aligning operations with regulatory standards, and minimising legal risks.
  2. Regulatory Change Navigator: Monitor new and proposed changes in standards, legislation, and regulatory notifications, promptly updating internal policies and procedures to ensure Deriv stays ahead of the compliance curve.
  3. Compliance Risk Mitigator: Identify and assess potential compliance risks, strategising effective mitigation measures and sharing detailed risk reports to proactively address regulatory challenges and safeguard Deriv's reputation.
  4. Collaborative Compliance Framework Creator: Work closely with global Compliance teams to foster an aligned and holistic compliance framework, strengthening global compliance efforts and ensuring consistency across the board.
  5. Regulatory Authority Liaison: Engage with regulatory authorities and industry standards organisations, building strong relationships and fostering effective communication to maintain a cooperative approach to compliance.
  6. Strategic Monitoring and Planning Expert: Develop and implement monitoring strategies, audits, reviews, and action plans, ensuring our practices align efficiently with evolving regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  1. Qualifications: University degree in finance, law, risk management, banking, financial services, payments, or another relevant field.
  2. Experience: 15+ years of hands-on experience in a compliance role, with a proven track record of working with global teams.
  3. Skills: Deep understanding of corporate governance, anti-money laundering (AML), investment and/or payment services regulations, crypto asset regulatory frameworks, and other relevant legislation.
  4. Communication Skills: Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
