Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Band 6 Scrub Team Leader to join our Orthopaedics team at St Albans City Hospital.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the scrub team and ensuring the safe and efficient running of the operating theatre department.
Main Duties
- Assess care needs, plan, deliver, and evaluate high-standard nursing care.
- Contribute to the safe and efficient running of the operating theatre department.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and contribute to clinical and professional standards.
- Initiate and develop evidence-based practice, ensuring all staff are aware of current issues and changes.
Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
- First-level registration with the NMC and HCPC registration.
- Post-registration education programme related to the speciality.
- Evidence of professional development.
Experience
- Considerable experience within the speciality.
- Mentoring and facilitating experience.
- Commitment to clinical effectiveness and evidence-based care.
- Experience at Band 5.
- Knowledge of Clinical Governance & Benchmarking.
Skills and Ability
- Ability to command the confidence of colleagues.
- Effective team working and facilitation skills.
- Negotiation and conflict resolution.
- Ability to write clear, concise, and relevant reports.
Personal Qualities
- Team player, flexible, good communication skills, calm, friendly, empathetic.
