Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Diabetes Specialist Nurse to join our team at Manchester Royal Infirmary. As a key member of our In-Patient Diabetes Specialist Nurse team, you will provide expert clinical care and advice to ward-based nursing and medical staff, patients, and their carers.

The successful candidate will have a strong interest in diabetes and be willing to develop their skills and knowledge in diabetes care. You will work closely with consultants, community nurses, GP and practice nurses, as well as antenatal services, to provide specialist support and advice to people with Type 2 and Type 1 diabetes and diabetes in pregnancy.

Main Duties of the Job

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing expert clinical care and advice to ward-based nursing and medical staff, patients, and their carers.
  • Working closely with consultants, community nurses, GP and practice nurses, as well as antenatal services.
  • Providing specialist support and advice to people with Type 2 and Type 1 diabetes and diabetes in pregnancy.
  • Developing and implementing diabetes care plans.
  • Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care delivery.
