Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locum Consultant in Diabetes Specialist to join our team at the NHS. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our endocrinology and diabetes services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist care to patients with diabetes and endocrine disorders
  • Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and protocols
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of care plans
  • Provide education and training to junior medical staff and other healthcare professionals
  • Contribute to research and quality improvement initiatives
Requirements
  • MRCP or equivalent qualification
  • GMC registration with a license to practice
  • Entry on the General Medical Council (GMC) specialist register in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Acute Internal Medicine
  • Experience of general endocrine outpatient clinic and inpatient management
  • Publications in recognized medical journals
  • Experience of formal clinical supervision and educational supervision

  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective teams
  • Positive attitude towards members of the wider healthcare team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Working Arrangements

The post is based at the NHS and is a full-time position. The successful candidate will be required to work within the in-hours period (09:00-17:00 Monday to Friday).
