Job Title: Band 6 Diabetes Specialist Nurse

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Band 6 Diabetes Specialist Nurse to join our team at The Diabetes Times. As a key member of our In-Patient Diabetes Specialist Nurse team, you will provide expert clinical care and advice to ward-based nursing and medical staff, patients, and their carers.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide specialist support and advice to people with Type 2 and Type 1 diabetes and diabetes in pregnancy.
  • Deliver education to patients and professionals, and contribute to service development.
  • Work closely with consultants, community nurses, GP and practice nurses, and antenatal services.
  • Organise and prioritise individual workload, and demonstrate excellent clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic nurse to join a friendly team of diabetes professionals in our Diabetes service. If you have experience managing diabetes care and are willing to learn new skills, we encourage you to apply.

The post requires the ability to work within a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings, and to provide on-site weekend cover on a rotational basis.
