Job Summary
We are seeking an Ophthalmic Care Specialist to join our team. As an Ophthalmic Care Specialist, you will be responsible for assisting with daily patient care and clinic flow. This includes taking medical histories, performing visual function and diagnostic tests, and utilizing tools to take eye measurements.

Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
* Assist with daily patient care and clinic flow
* Take medical histories and verify information
* Perform visual function and diagnostic tests
* Utilize tools to take eye measurements
* Inform ophthalmologists about changes to a patient's visual acuity
* Dilate eyes to prepare patients for their eye exam
* Explain how to use eye drops or contact lenses
* Assist with inventory management

Secondary Responsibilities
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
* Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
* Participate in ongoing education and training programs to enhance clinical skills
* Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care

Qualifications
We are looking for an individual with a good understanding of ophthalmic practice and patient care, effective communication skills, and the ability to follow instructions and maintain accurate records. A working knowledge of eye anatomy, disease, symptoms, and ocular medications is also required.

Education and Experience
* High school diploma or equivalent required
* 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred
* Certification as an ophthalmic assistant or technician is highly desirable

Estimated Salary Range
$58,000 - $68,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
