Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Relief Security Officer to join our team at a large hospital trust in Epsom and Carshalton. As a Relief Security Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of people and premises.
Key Responsibilities
- Patrol buildings to deter and detect potential security threats
- Manage emergencies, including fire evacuation, conflict management, and physical intervention
- Work closely with client representatives, customers, and colleagues to resolve queries
- Manage access control for employees, visitors, patients, and contractors
- Identify and report Health & Safety issues and provide first aid if necessary
- Maintain records, including incident reports and daily occurrence logs, using computer-based systems
- Investigate and write detailed reports on incidents, liaising with police and other third parties as needed
Requirements
- Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
- Dynamic and interactive skills to engage with the public
- Experience in a customer-facing role, ideally in security
Person Specification
- 5-year checkable background
- Document and Share-Code to prove eligibility to work in the UK, if applicable
- Ability to pass a criminal record check (CRC) to the required standard
- Excellent command of English – both oral and written
- SIA license - Door Supervisor or Close Protection required
- Previous experience in hospital security or similar
- SIA CCTV License is not essential but would be beneficial
