We are seeking a Biostatistics Research Scientist to join our team at Newcastle University. The successful candidate will have a strong background in statistical analysis and a passion for health data research.
About the Role
The Biostatistics Research Scientist will be responsible for developing and applying innovative biostatistics methods for utilizing observational data to augment or replace clinical trials. They will work closely with our research team to design and implement studies, analyze data, and present findings.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and apply innovative biostatistics methods for utilizing observational data to augment or replace clinical trials
- Support the application of innovative statistical methods to rare disease trials in grant applications
Requirements
- A PhD in statistics with knowledge or interest in area relevant to causal inference, observational data, or quasi-experiment methods
- Experience with programming languages such as R or Python
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to research funding applications
