The Newcastle University Biostatistics Research Group is seeking a highly skilled researcher to join their dynamic team. As a Biostatistics Researcher, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects developing innovative trial designs for rare disease trials. With a strong background in statistical methodology and experience in research, you will be responsible for applying advanced statistical methods to improve the design of clinical trials. You will also contribute to the supervision of postgraduate research students or junior researchers.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in statistics or a relevant field, with several years of experience in conducting research and publishing in high-quality peer-reviewed journals. A strong track record of securing research funding and managing projects is essential. Additionally, excellent communication and teamwork skills are required to collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders.

We offer a competitive salary of £46,485 - £52,183 per annum, depending on experience. The role is fixed-term until 30 November 2028. We welcome applications from individuals who want to work part-time or full-time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and apply innovative biostatistical methods for improving the design of rare disease clinical trials.
  • Support the application of advanced statistical methods to rare disease trials in grant applications.
  • Disseminate published work and present results in written and oral form.
  • Contribute to the culture and general strengths of the Biostatistics Research Group and Institute.
