This is a fantastic opportunity to enhance your leadership and organisational skills in a dynamic and fast-paced clinical environment./ppThe Labour Ward at University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust serves as the receiving area for acute intrapartum care for women and birthing individuals in Southampton. The ward is staffed by a core team of experienced and highly skilled midwives who deliver expert care to high-risk patients./ppAs a Labour Ward Coordinator, you will be required to support and develop your team, act as a clinical expert and resource for the multi-disciplinary team, and provide support to flexible midwives, NEST midwives, and preceptee midwives./ppThe successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, flexible and adaptable in their approach to coordinating the Labour Ward, and a positive role model with a good level of self-awareness and personal resilience./ppThe key responsibilities of this role include:/pulliSupporting and developing the Labour Ward team/liliActing as a clinical expert and resource for the multi-disciplinary team/liliProviding support to flexible midwives, NEST midwives, and preceptee midwives/liliCoordinating the Labour Ward and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the broader service implications for the ongoing management of effective patient flow/li/ulpThe ideal candidate will have significant clinical experience, a strong leadership background, and excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
