About the Role
University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Surgical Care Practitioner to lead our cardiac surgical care team. As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing expert care to patients undergoing cardiac surgery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the cardiac surgical care team in providing high-quality patient care
- Develop and implement integrated patient care pathways
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care delivery
- Provide mentorship and training to junior staff members
- Contribute to the development of service improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Postgraduate diploma or master's degree in surgical care practice
- Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council or Health and Care Professions Council
- Completion of all surgical care practitioner competencies within the relevant specialty
- Specialist clinical skills and experience within cardiothoracic surgery
- Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team
- Evidenced-based care philosophy
- Clear understanding of professional accountability and autonomous practice
- Teaching qualification and leadership training
