About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineering Supervisor to lead our bus operations team. As a Senior Bus Technician, you will be responsible for overseeing the mechanical engineering operation, ensuring that our buses are serviced, maintained, and repaired to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical engineering operation, overseeing bus servicing, breakdowns, and inspections to diagnose faults and specify the correct method of repair.
- Develop and implement effective maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and ensure optimal bus performance.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to stay up-to-date with new technologies, techniques, and health and safety legislation.
- Conduct thorough bus inspections, paying close attention to reoccurring defects and implementing corrective actions to prevent future issues.
- Stay current with modern repair techniques and utilize electronic and mechanical diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot and repair complex bus systems.
- Work closely with the engineering team to input and extract relevant data from computerized engineering systems.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Bus Technician or Mechanical Engineering Supervisor in a similar industry.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, bus systems, and diagnostic techniques.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
- Ability to work flexibly to meet operational requirements and stay up-to-date with changing legislation.
