Join Our Team as a Buying Manager

We are seeking an experienced Buying Manager to lead our strategic buying efforts in Norway, based in our London Support Office. As a key member of our Commercial team, you will be responsible for building and executing a strategy to drive growth and profitability in our international business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive buying strategy to achieve net profitability and commercial targets.
  • Curate an optimal assortment for our customers, balancing sales, margin, and costs.
  • Generate a continuous pipeline of value-creating initiatives to drive sales and profitability.
  • Manage category pricing, including pricing elasticity trials and supplier negotiations.
  • Own department supplier income delivery and performance reporting.
  • Develop and maintain long-term supplier strategies, including annual deals, payment terms, and marketing spend.
  • Review and mitigate trading outlook risks, engaging with the wider business on developing trends.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships and negotiate favorable terms.
  • Contribute to the annual budget building process.

Requirements:

  • Experience in European/Norwegian buying markets.
  • Strong retail/FMCG purchasing experience.
  • Commercial and negotiation skills, with a focus on account management and supplier relationships.
  • Outstanding analytical skills, with the ability to use data for business decisions.
  • Persuasive and influential communication skills, with a strong voice for the business and category externally and internally.
  • Desired bilingual ability.
