About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Critical Facilities Engineer to join our team at Equinix. As a Critical Facilities Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the seamless operation of our facility infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the optimal performance of our facility infrastructure through diligent maintenance practices.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and monitor building and data center alarms to identify any issues.
  • Oversee and execute preventative maintenance on site infrastructure, including managing the permit to work system.
  • Perform and manage repairs and corrective maintenance on critical equipment to maintain uninterrupted service.
  • Prepare and execute planned maintenance activities to ensure the reliability of our infrastructure.
  • Maintain comprehensive site logs and data records, including MOPs and scripts.
  • Assist senior staff in responding to on-site incidents and take initiative in handling basic incidents based on your expertise.
  • Complete basic work requests and circuit installations efficiently.
  • Participate actively in ongoing infrastructure projects to enhance our facilities.

Requirements

  • Educational Background: ONC/BTEC/NVQ or equivalent qualification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience: Previous experience in data center or critical environment settings.
  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of critical infrastructure, including UPS, generators, BMS, chillers, and life safety systems.
  • Personal Attributes: Self-motivated, flexible, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
