Data Centre Critical Facilities Engineer

At Iron Mountain, we're looking for a skilled Critical Facilities Technician to join our team in a 24x7 data center environment. As a Critical Facilities Technician, you will provide technical and facility support, including maintenance and oversight of electrical, HVAC, civil, and building management systems.
This is a full-time shift position, and you may be required to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift. Although experience within a data centre would be advantageous, candidates with critical facilities experience from other sectors, such as healthcare, warehousing, aviation, telecommunications, etc. would also be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of IMDC's critical power, cooling/environmental, security & support systems and facilities to meet or exceed uptime service levels.
- Proactively support the safety of the environment & occupants and ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work.
- Perform limited maintenance tasks to ensure smooth operation of the data center heating and cooling systems and overall facility.
- Permit and monitor contract vendors.
- Monitor, resolve and update all assigned service tickets using IMDC's ticketing system.
- Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment and inspect buildings, grounds, and all equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning operation.
- Escort and periodically check vendors while performing maintenance to ensure that the rules and operating procedures are followed.
- Assist in arranging access and creating work authorisations and changes for internal works or for vendors.
- Proactively identify issues and take the needed steps to resolve. Assist with service delivery tasks when needed.
Key Skills, Requirements and Competencies:
- Experience in a critical operations environment and/or data center experience preferred, but not required.
- Relevant electrical, electrical installation, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field is required.
- Multi tasking - we use several different systems to manage ticket queues and work tasks can change throughout the day.
- Attention to detail - ability to understand and follow a documented process and Iron Mountain's safety code, role is very process driven.
- Organization & prioritization - following processes and managing your time with minimal supervision to get work done efficiently and on time.
- Dedication & desire to learn - we would like you to grow your career within Iron Mountain.
