Facilities Operations Centre Engineer, Amazon

As a Facilities Operations Centre Engineer at Amazon Data Services UK Limited, you will be responsible for monitoring the data centre's physical infrastructure and ensuring the optimal customer experience. You will serve as a facilitator for Large Scale Events and Critical Site Events, and provide assistance and support to the onsite team. This role requires strong leadership skills, an understanding of data centre IT infrastructure and facilities infrastructure, and the ability to think outside the box.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor the data centre's physical infrastructure
Serve as a Point of Contact for internal and external teams
Assist with the development of communication and escalation protocols
Contribute to outage post mortem analysis
Ensure records are updated in a timely manner
Assist with coordination and communication during emergency recovery efforts

Requirements
2+ years of Electrical or Mechanical Experience
1+ years of experience working with Building and/or Electrical Platform Management Systems
2+ Years' Experience in Data Centre Engineering/ Operations
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years' experience working in a large-scale data centre and 3+ years' experience in a NOC (Network Operations Centre) or similar
Strong verbal and written communication skills and strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Access)
Ability to maintain SLAs through the implementation of proactive issue detection and reporting tools and ability to follow and complete support procedures, system documentation, and issue tracking entries, root cause analysis and complex problem solving skills
