About the Role
Equinix is seeking a skilled Critical Infrastructure Specialist to join our operations team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining critical facilities infrastructure and ensuring the seamless operation of our data centre facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the seamless operation of our facility infrastructure through diligent maintenance practices.
- Conduct regular site inspections and monitor building and data centre alarms to ensure optimal performance.
- Oversee and execute preventative maintenance on site infrastructure, including managing the permit to work system.
- Perform and manage repairs and corrective maintenance on critical equipment to maintain uninterrupted service.
- Prepare and execute planned maintenance activities to ensure the reliability of our infrastructure.
- Maintain comprehensive site logs and data records, including MOPs and scripts.
- Assist senior staff in responding to on-site incidents and take initiative in handling basic incidents based on your expertise.
Requirements
- ONC/BTEC/NVQ or equivalent qualification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
- Previous experience in data centre or critical environment settings.
- In-depth understanding of critical infrastructure, including UPS, generators, BMS, chillers, and life safety systems.
- Self-motivated, flexible, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
