SEMH Teaching Assistant Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated SEN teaching assistant to join our team in a special school located in St Leonards-On-Sea. If you have experience working with children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs, we encourage you to apply.

The school provides specialist education for Key Stage 1-4 students with a range of needs, including SEMH, autism, ADHD and dyslexia. Our school values respect, inclusion and achievement.

About the Role

As a SEMH teaching assistant, you will work closely with teachers and students in the classroom, as well as in small groups or one-to-one sessions. Your responsibilities will include assisting with lesson planning, preparation and delivery, as well as assessing and providing feedback on student work.

Requirements
  • Previous experience working in schools or with young people
  • At least NVQ Level 2 or relevant experience in education or childcare
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to deescalate challenging behaviour and promote positive outcomes
Working Arrangements

This role requires you to work Monday to Friday from 08:30 to 16:00. The estimated salary is £50,000 per annum, which equates to £90-£95 per day. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people.
