We are seeking a highly skilled Regulatory Liaison Officer to join our team at Portsmouth City Council. As a key member of our Regulatory Services Team, you will play a vital role in delivering a wide range of statutory functions, including pest control services, air quality assessment, and licensing of hackney carriage and private hire operators.
Key Responsibilities- Provide support to all compliance teams within the service and act as the first point of contact for customers.
- Support customers in achieving high standards of regulatory and licensing compliance while maintaining efficient delivery of service functions.
- Actively work as part of a team and support the delivery of Regulatory and Licensing frontline services through various administrative processes.
- Interact with a wide variety of customers, including those registering complaints for investigation, applying for licenses or services, and registering business activities.
- An operational understanding of several key Regulatory and Licensing Service functions.
- A knowledge of the administrative functions likely to be undertaken in a Regulatory Service and Licensing authority enforcement team.
- An aptitude for being decisive, making decisions, and using discretion - considering the most appropriate course of action outside key policy/process criteria.
- Ability to deliver flexible service delivery requirements, including participation in duty rotas and positively engaging in service and internal policy changes.
- Good knowledge of computer software packages.
- An aptitude for being self-motivated as there will be occasions when working independently or with limited supervision.
