About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Design Manager to join our team at Strabag UK Limited. As a Senior Design Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing the design process for multiple projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the design process for multiple projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Develop and implement design strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, and architects, to ensure that design solutions meet the needs of all stakeholders.
  • Manage and coordinate the design process, including the development of design briefs, design concepts, and design documentation.
  • Ensure that all design work is completed to the required quality standards, and that any issues or concerns are addressed promptly.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and other external partners to ensure that design solutions meet their needs and expectations.
  • Manage and coordinate the design team, including the recruitment, training, and development of design staff.
  • Ensure that all design work is completed in accordance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement processes and procedures to improve design efficiency, quality, and productivity.
  • Monitor and report on design performance, including key performance indicators (KPIs) and return on investment (ROI).
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the company's business, including its products, services, and markets.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to ensure that design solutions are innovative and effective.

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent in Architecture, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong project management skills and experience in leading and managing design teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other design software, including Autodesk Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and SketchUp.
  • Experience with building information modeling (BIM) and computer-aided design (CAD) software.
  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), or the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).
