Job Title: In-house Legal Manager

We're seeking a highly skilled In-house Legal Manager to join our team at ZEN, a rapidly growing international organization. As a key member of our legal team, you will play a crucial role in advising on a range of issues related to our global payment projects and services.

Responsibilities:
  • Advise on commercial, consumer protection, KYC, risk assessment/compliance, and data privacy matters related to our payments businesses worldwide.
  • Structure, draft, and negotiate agreements with our partners.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including product, engineering, compliance, marketing, business development, and risk teams.
  • Work closely with colleagues across the global legal team to advise on general issues related to project launches.
  • Help build scalable and effective processes for legal review and launch of new features and products.
  • Participate as a proactive business partner for senior managers and build a trusted advisor relationship.
  • Monitor and keep up to date with legislative changes and relevant case law, providing bespoke and practical advice to colleagues and internal stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 5 years experience in the UK, preferably with 2+ years in the fintech or financial institutions sector.
  • Familiarity with UK legislation and awareness of differences in the EU.
  • Knowledge of electronic financial services and payments-related matters, including money service business compliance requirements, anti-money laundering rules, and know-your-customer requirements.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit, self-motivation, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for technology and ability to understand complex business models and product use cases quickly.
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making skills, with strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Independent, hard-working, well-organized, and able to prioritize and manage numerous projects simultaneously.
