About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mining Engineer to join our team at oilandgas. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing expert consulting services to our clients in the mining and minerals processing sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and optimize open pit and underground mines, including pit shells, detailed design, and scheduling.
  • Conduct geotechnical interpretation and apply it to mine design.
  • Develop and implement OPEX and CAPEX costing models for mine designs.
  • Optimize current operating mines and improve their efficiency.
  • Design and implement ventilation systems.
  • Visit sites to gather information, optimize processes, and monitor mine facilities, systems, and equipment.
  • Contribute to consultancy reports on reserve estimation, mine planning, and valuation.
  • Lead and manage project objectives and schedules.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
  • 2-6 years of operational experience in open pit or underground operations.
  • Membership in a professional body such as IM3 or AusIMM is desirable.
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams and leading projects.
  • Strong English language writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel to remote sites and work independently.
  • Proficient in 3D mine design software and ventilation design tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters' degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
  • Short courses or training in economics, geotechnical design, or software.
  • Consultancy experience and working knowledge of French, Spanish, or other second languages.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including SharePoint, OneDrive, Outlook, Teams, and Microsoft Office.
