We are seeking a highly motivated and caring Counselling Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a well-established secondary school in Chorlton-cum-Hardy. The successful candidate will assist with lesson delivery, provide individualized support to students with special educational needs or social, emotional, and mental health (SEN/SEMH) requirements, and collaborate with the SENCO to identify learning gaps and develop targeted interventions.

The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Psychology or a related field, demonstrate a genuine interest in education and mental health, and exhibit a proactive approach to supporting students' academic and personal growth. This role offers a valuable opportunity for Psychology graduates to gain hands-on experience in teaching, educational psychology, or mental health settings.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting teachers with lesson planning and delivery
  • Providing one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN/SEMH needs
  • Collaborating with the SENCO to identify and address individual learning gaps
  • Managing classroom behavior and promoting a positive learning environment
  • Offering pastoral support and promoting positive mental health among students
  • Providing feedback to teaching staff on student progress
  • Supporting extracurricular activities and intervention sessions

The salary for this role is approximately £425-£500 per week, depending on experience and qualifications, and there is potential for the position to become permanent based on performance.
