Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant

At GSL Education, we are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team of professionals in Rotherham.

Job Summary:

A SEMH Teaching Assistant will play a vital role in creating inclusive and supportive learning environments, promoting the well-being and academic success of students with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs, both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans and Behavior Support Plans to address specific student needs.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and respected.
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to student support.
  • Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback to the teaching team as needed.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
  • A positive attitude, patience, and resilience in the face of challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education, psychology, or a related field would be advantageous.
