Job Title: SEN Support Teaching Assistant

Location: Rotherham

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a SEN Support Teaching Assistant in Rotherham. This role involves providing tailored support to a student with Special Educational Needs (SEN), fostering a positive learning environment, and assisting the classroom teacher in creating an inclusive and enriching educational experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide one-to-one support to a student with SEN: Ensure their individual needs are met, and provide personalized support to enhance their learning experience.
  2. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs): Collaborate with the class teacher to develop and implement tailored learning strategies that cater to the student's unique needs.
  3. Collaborate with the class Teacher: Work closely with the teaching team to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes the student's social and emotional development.
  4. Support the student's social and emotional development: Foster a sense of belonging and self-confidence in the student, and provide guidance on social skills and emotional regulation.
  5. Adapt and differentiate teaching materials: Modify teaching resources to accommodate the student's learning style and abilities, ensuring they have equal access to educational opportunities.
  6. Communicate effectively: Maintain open communication with parents, teachers, and other professionals involved in the student's education, ensuring a collaborative approach to supporting the student's needs.
  7. Monitor and record progress: Regularly assess the student's progress, providing feedback to the teaching team and making recommendations for future support.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  1. Relevant experience: Possess experience in supporting students with SEN in an educational setting, demonstrating a deep understanding of their needs and challenges.
  2. Knowledge of special educational needs: Have a solid understanding of various special educational needs and strategies to address them, ensuring effective support for the student.
  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with the teaching team and other stakeholders.
  4. Patience, empathy, and passion: Demonstrate patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of students with SEN.
