Job Title: SEN HLTA

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN HLTA to join our client school community in Rotherham.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will provide direct support to students with special needs, helping them with academic tasks and ensuring they understand the material. They will assist the classroom teacher in creating an inclusive learning environment and engage in ongoing professional development to stay informed about the latest strategies and techniques related to special education.

Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one support and assistance to students with special educational needs.
  • Assist students with their learning activities, both in the classroom and in one-on-one sessions.
  • Provide emotional support and encouragement to students, fostering a positive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and Special Educational Needs Coordinator to implement individualized education plans and support strategies.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents/guardians.
Requirements
  • Possession of a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Ability to build rapport with students and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational and emotional needs of children with autism.

Please note that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or willingness to apply for a new one.
