Plant Machinery Reconditioning Specialist

Job Title: Rebuild Repair EngineerWe are currently seeking an experienced Rebuild Repair Engineer to join our team in one of our state-of-the-art workshops. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the refurbishment of Caterpillar products to the highest standards.
About the RoleThe ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical, hydraulic and mechanical fitting knowledge, with experience working on large-scale machines. You will be required to undertake detailed inspections, carry out standard diagnosis tests and produce comprehensive lists of parts and materials required for the proposed machine preparation work.
You will also be responsible for undertaking overhaul, repair or refurbishment work on the machine to the agreed work plan, removing and dispatching components for specialist attention, re-installing the original or replacement part or repairing original parts.
Additionally, you will inspect and test completed machines to ensure they are operating to expected performance levels.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you will require:
- Excellent attention to detail and work accuracy/numeracy
- Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
- Deep understanding of the use of general service manuals and computerised Service Information System (SIS) from the OEM
- Practical knowledge of tooling and specialised equipment to conduct repairs on difficult and heavy machinery
- Practical knowledge of rigging, slinging and jacking procedures
- Electrical, hydraulic and mechanical fitting knowledge
We offer a competitive salary of £40,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition, we provide:
