Medical Secretary/Clerical Assistant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time Medical Secretary/Clerical Assistant to join the Adult Medicine Directorate of Darent Valley Hospital for a 10-month secondment.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to consultants, specialist nurses, and medical staff within the clinical unit, ensuring the smooth and efficient performance of the service.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Liaising with the multi-disciplinary team, internal departments, and external agencies to ensure continuity in achieving excellence in patient care.
- Communicating effectively and sensitively with a wide range of people, including clients, colleagues, sub-contractors, and external agencies.
- Organizing meetings and diary management.
- Providing excellent IT skills and previous experience in an office setting.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- English Language GCSE (or equivalent) and general education to GCSE level.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PPT.
- Previous clerical/secretary experience.
- Experience of using all Microsoft office packages, including PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
- Good word processing and computer skills.
- Good presentation of work/typing - excellent keyboard skills.
- Accurate spelling.
- Good communication skills.
- Good organizational skills.
