About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated General Practitioner to join our team at Chapel Street Surgery, part of Sussex Primary Care. As a Salaried GP, you will be responsible for providing high-quality primary medical services to our patients, working collaboratively with our multi-disciplinary team to deliver excellent patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive consultations and care to patients, including on-the-day care and pre-booked appointments.
- Develop and implement care plans for patients with long-term conditions, working in line with current disease management protocols and care pathways.
- Prescribe medications and treatments as necessary, adhering to locally agreed or nationally agreed prescribing formularies.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide a seamless and integrated approach to patient care.
- Participate in clinical governance activities, including clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives, to ensure the highest standards of care.
Requirements
- Accredited as a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) or have 5 years experience as a full-time GP with a demonstrable commitment to quality practice.
- Currently on a performers list and not suspended from that list or from the medical register.
- Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check.
- Evidence of continued professional development.

Chapel Street Surgery is situated in Newhaven, a port town in East Sussex, and serves a population of approximately 6,300 patients. We provide a wide range of services, including well-woman clinics, contraception, maternity and midwifery, asthma/COPD and diabetes clinics, hypertension clinics, childhood immunisations, and minor surgery. We have a multi-disciplinary team, including GPs, Paramedic Practitioners, Physiotherapists, Pharmacy Teams, Women's Health Nurses, and Advanced Nurse Practitioners.
