About the Role

Sussex Primary Care is seeking a skilled and dedicated Salaried GP to join our team at Chapel Street Surgery in Newhaven, East Sussex. As a Salaried GP, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality primary medical services to our patients, working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide primary medical services to registered patients, ensuring the highest standards of care and adhering to relevant national primary care contractual regulations and guidelines.
  • Conduct surgery consultations, emergencies, and telephone consultations, as well as visiting patients at home and checking repeat prescriptions.
  • Develop and implement care plans for patients with health-related illnesses, in line with current disease management protocols and care pathways.
  • Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes, using IT systems to maintain accurate patient records.
  • Prescribe medications in accordance with locally agreed or nationally agreed prescribing formularies.
  • Participate in continuing professional development, annual GP appraisal, Revalidation, and peer supervision to maintain professional competence.
  • Engage in clinical governance activities, including clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives, to ensure high-quality patient care.

Requirements

  • A medical practitioner registered with the General Practitioner Register under article 10 of the General and Specialist Medical Practice Order 2003.
  • Accredited as a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) or 5 years' experience as a full-time GP with a demonstrable commitment to quality practice.
  • Currently on a performers list and not suspended from that list or the medical register.
  • Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check.
  • Evidence of continued professional development.
