Part Time Pensions Payroll Position

We have an exciting opportunity for a trainee to start your career in pensions payroll administration.
As a member of the Pensions Administration Department, you will provide pensioner payroll services to deliver an efficient and effective service to our clients and their pensioners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and management of pensioner payroll processes for client payrolls in line with our procedures;
- Record and process payroll changes on the work management system according to agreed procedures and timescales.
- Reconcile payroll costs and changes against our Pensions Administration database
- Ensure PAYE deductions are made and paid within statutory deadlines.
- Produce and distribute annual P60s
- Make timely payments to pensioners, HMRC, and other third-party bodies within agreed controls
- Answer queries from pensioners, colleagues, partners, and clients in an accurate and timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with agreed payroll deadlines and maintain team planners and the payroll calendar.
- Support the rest of the Pensions Payroll Team on payroll and team matters
- Maintain payroll and ancillary systems.
- Advise and assist Pensions Administration Teams on any payroll matters.
- Issue payslips to pensioners within agreed timescales and send them to confirmed addresses.
About the Job:
- Estimated salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum (part-time), dependent on experience and location.
Requirements:
- Ideal candidate has prior office experience, preferably in payroll; strong accuracy and attention to detail required.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently; organised and professional with a positive attitude.
- Strong maths skills with ability to identify numerical errors; intermediate Excel skills beneficial.
