Locum Anaesthetist Opportunity in Ayrshire

NHS Ayrshire & Arran is committed to providing high-quality patient care and is seeking a skilled Specialty Doctor to join its Anaesthesia team at University Hospital Ayr.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, delivering anaesthesia and perioperative care for a variety of surgical specialties.
As a member of the team, you will have the chance to develop sub-specialty interests, including perioperative medicine and regional anaesthesia, and contribute to the department's goal of providing excellent patient care.
The post involves delivering anaesthesia and perioperative care for a variety of surgical specialties, with opportunities to develop sub-specialty interests. On call activity is resident and provides anaesthesia for patients requiring emergency surgery, input to critical care and stabilisation and transfer of level 3 patients from the UHA site to the Critical Care facility at UHC.
NHS Ayrshire & Arran is undergoing transformational change, with University Hospital Ayr being developed as a centre of excellence for orthopaedic elective surgery. The department of Anaesthesia comprises of 43 Consultants, 15 SAS doctors, 20 Trainee Anaesthetists and 3 Anaesthesia Associate trainees.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a centre of excellence for orthopaedic elective surgery, with a wide range of teaching opportunities available both undergraduate and post graduate. The department is committed to supporting specialty doctors who wish to pursue the CESR route of entry to the GMC specialist register.
