Job Title: Principal, Agile Delivery Manager

About the Role

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is seeking a highly experienced Principal, Agile Delivery Manager to lead the delivery of large-scale SAP-enabled business transformation programmes. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing agile teams to deliver projects in line with the required standards and practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage technology workstreams of large-scale complex SAP-enabled business transformation programmes.
  • Manage blended delivery teams consisting of internal, contractor, and SI partner resources following agile methodology.
  • Develop and implement delivery governance frameworks, including stage gates, budget estimation, and tracking.
  • Work closely with Scrum team Product Owners to build clear roadmaps for delivery, aligned to value.
  • Collaborate with the Director, Head of COMPASS Transformation programme, ePMO, and business project managers to align delivery workstreams and resources.
  • Facilitate cross-functional groups to plan and deliver initiatives, identifying the best methodology for each team.
  • Ensure initiatives are appropriately resourced with the necessary skills and expertise.
  • Follow and deliver to the standards set by the Agile Delivery practice, ensuring all delivery risks and issues are captured and mitigated.
  • Report progress status as per requirements by the PMO (Project governance).
  • Ensure all project artefacts are completed to a high standard, meeting all governance criteria.
  • Make delivery metrics visible to the teams and stakeholders.
  • Work with peer networks and heads of practice to align to department standards.
  • Determine the correct methodology for successful delivery of value and outcomes, in guidance with the AD, Capability lead.
  • Work closely with project sponsors and key stakeholders to keep them informed and drive the correct outcome.
  • Support the preparation of business cases, when appropriate.
  • Follow and enhance agile delivery methodologies, helping to build understanding and capability across all teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in an IT discipline or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Significant experience in leading and managing technology workstreams of large-scale complex SAP-enabled business transformation programmes.
  • Experience in managing blended delivery teams, including internal, contractor, and SI partner resources.
  • Knowledge of SAP Activate methodology and experience in delivering projects using this methodology.
  • Experience in leading geographically dispersed teams and managing suppliers and internal teams against fixed price/fixed outcome contractual and commercial models.
  • Good practitioner knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, and lean methodologies, coupled with a practical understanding of the principles of agile and the processes behind effective product delivery.
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to convey technical detail in a non-technical manner.
  • Resilience and ability to stay the course to deliver initiatives as per plan.
  • Proven track record in delivering continuous value within agreed constraints, with experience of delivering at least 2 agile programmes of £10m or more.
